Connect OpenRemote to OpenCode

Start OpenCode on your computer, open OpenRemote on your phone, then connect over your local network.

Connect from OpenRemote

Install the OpenRemote plugin, then:

opencode --hostname 127.0.0.1

Scan the QR code from OpenRemote.

You can use the OpenRemote app without the plugin with most functionality:

opencode --mdns
or
opencode --hostname 0.0.0.0

Secure OpenCode before using shared or public Wi-Fi.

Securing OpenCode with a password currently requires the OpenRemote plugin because of an OpenCode server password bug tracked on the roadmap.

  • OpenRemote searches for OpenCode servers on your network.
  • Tap a discovered server to fill the connection details.
  • If discovery is unavailable, enter the host LAN IP and port, usually 4096.
  • On an Android emulator, connect to the host machine with 10.0.2.2:4096.

Use OpenRemote

  • Browse and resume OpenCode sessions.
  • Send chat prompts from your phone.
  • Run shell commands and view output in the transcript.
  • Approve or reject permission prompts remotely.
  • Switch Build or Plan and choose connected models.
